Yesterday I heard an extract of a book on the radio and knew instantly that it had been written in the 1990s. The reason was that the 90s was when people started saying "Academe" instead of "Academia" for some reason, then after a few years, it went back to normal again.

Good: Alexei Sayle is back on BBC R4's 6:30 slot, replacing the awful "Reincarnathan" which was the worst radio comedy I can remember - and I'm old enough to remember The Spam Fritter Man.

I still use Live Mail and only now have I noticed I have a Feeds folder with a load of unread feeds from Microsoft and for some reason, MSNBC News, from 2012. Hmm.

I said some time ago that there were too many named storms and we'd run out of names and have to start using fantasy names - and now there's Storm Eowyn. A friend suggested we should look to history instead and have Storm Tiglath-Pileser.
