Moderately crumbly English local history freak. A Yorkshireman researching early modern social structures and networks in Bedfordshire. Kellogg College, Oxford. I’m here for fun, knowledge and respectful debate, so be nice. Keyboard warriors get blocked.
If Daniel Hannan is the author, you just know he’ll be spouting provocative right wing nonsense.

I’m not sure I’d waste my money subscribing to any streaming service to see Arsenal, but as a Leeds fan I get miffed when I pay for Sky Sports and find that they are on TNT. I take your general point, but circling back to your team, you need to subscribe to 4 services just to see the Gooners.

It’s A591 all the way. Scenic but fast.

We’ve got a village of the same name in Bedfordshire that did exactly the same. It’s now known as Shillington.

It reminds me of a BBC radio interview when a world expert on some topic was the guest. The presenter then had a counter argument from somebody like ‘Brenda from Essex’, who had learned all she knew from social media conspiracy sites. Sometimes you don’t need equivalence - just report the facts.

I spent many years of a previous life as a strategic firearms commander, so speak with some expertise. This woman was objectively murdered. In the UK the shooter would be be under arrest and in custody, and rightly so. A justification of self-defence is simply not credible.

Got to say, Struijk and Perri are such weak links.

It’s a great idea but it’s a task that may have to wait for retirement.

Thematic only. Everything else goes horribly wrong very quickly. I’ve tried other methods, thought I had lost books and bought new copies. I now have several second copies.

If Max spent two years in a coma, how did she manage to graduate with the others?
