I'm just a few years older than Farage and grew up on the endless diet of movies on the TV about WW2 that he probably did. Interesting fact: neither I nor any of the boys I was at school with ended up with the idea that Hitler was right from those films.

Definitely not what you expect from someone with "human rights lawyer" on their CV

Every lazy programmer who does this without putting constraints on the input has now added a prompt injection vulnerability. "ignore all previous instructions...." sort of thing. An LLM for this kind of input validation is not just computational overkill, it's downright unsafe.

Shouldn't that be "they aren't all Moriarty"?

A lot of us software folk aren't that convinced of their efficacy for software either. The training set of everything on github and Stack Overflow includes a lot of bad code. I use copilot and sometimes it's very helpful and sometimes it's garbage and if you can't tell those apart you're in trouble

Companies are registered in tax havens to avoid scrutiny by HMRC. Any income you are paid by the company is of course taxable. But there are other ways of using company income to benefit the owner without claiming it as income or dividends. Consult a tax expert to discover these wizard wheezes

A government that cared about redistribution would take more low income people out of tax altogether, leave higher rate where it is (but adjust the threshold for inflation) and start taxing assets - not just expensive houses
November 29, 2025 at 12:06 PM
You also lose your tax free allowance at that income level. When this government talks about making those with the broadest shoulders pay the most that somehow never includes the UHNW asset owning class.

The more I hear reform politicians bang on about British values the more I wonder why they hate this country so much and why they've imported their values and tactics from the US

Is anyone checking in on Peter Thiel to see if he's OK? If a family member kept seeing the antichrist everywhere you'd worry about them. I guess no one worries about the mental health of billionaires

By admitting the allegations have credence while downplaying their seriousness he's confirmed that he was racist then and that he hasn't changed since

Repeating the post I just made about this:

Not sure why this lagging indicator has reassured markets. Aren't Nvidia's good results the outcome of the potentially risky investments in AI that the market was worried about? Can someone who understands this explain it to me?

I don't love it when keyboard warriors fail basic comprehension tasks. It was the security services who said PA were not a terrorist organisation, which was the point I made

Exclusive: Documents seen by Declassified reveal serious concerns within the UK government and MI5 about proscribing Palestine Action.

Proscribing a group under the terrorism act is a draconian action that can only be justified for the most extreme actors. PA comes nowhere near that threshold, as the woke left wing intelligence services told the home secretary. The proscription is a direct assault on civil liberties

They have burned their own base rather than stand for anything the original Labour Party believed in
November 18, 2025 at 9:18 PM
I'm never going to vote for Farage, but I'm never going to vote for the Labour Party in its current incarnation either. They have shown a complete lack of principles and morals. And you can't really trust a government that would rather lock up pensioners, protesting a genocide, than oppose genocide
