“Had to put the book down several times just to say ‘god damn it that’s good’. NMLCT, or, Animal City, is an example of the author at the absolute top of their game.”

climate change means it's October 5th in Montréal and I'm sitting on my balcony in a short-sleeved t-shirt, light skirt and flip-flops, and I'm still a little warm. A convertible just drove by with the top down. At least I have a good book of poetry to read.
the book Barangay, an offshore poem by Adrian de Leon. A blue and white cover, designed with flowing lines to look like ocean waves. In the bottom right corner is a black drawing of a small sea-faring fishing boat.

Here's why I'd say forklift: because steroids DO increase the strength of the muscles -- even if it is is cheating -- but using AI will atrophy cognitive function.
paulvermeersch.bsky.social
Is the analogy a weightlifter using steroids, or a weightlifter using a forklift?

Now someone can generate a novel-length text using large language model software, upload the resulting text to an AI editing platform, and then take the product of that process to a self-publishing service and create a printed and bound book that no one wrote, no one has read, and no one will read.
