It is always delightful to read Juan Valcarcel's thoughts. A very well-deserved Carmen y Severo Ochoa awardee and, even better, a colleague from whom we all learn in seminars and talks.

POM121 is one of the transmembrane nucleoporins that anchors the Nuclear Pore to the nuclear envelope. The Rodriguez-Bravo+labs identified a nuclear-soluble pool of POM121 that enhances the aggressiveness of prostate cancer, offering new therapeutic opportunities for this disease. shorturl.at/Z2Ked
Off-pore Nucleoporin sPOM121 Transcriptionally Propels β-Catenin–driven Tumor Progression and Immune Escape in Prostate Cancer
Transcriptional reprogramming, mediated by off-pore, nucleoplasm-localized sPOM121, leads to therapy resistance and immune evasion and represents a vulnerability to β-catenin inhibition in prostate ca...

How are some enhancers able to regulate genes over megabase distances when they usually act in genes over kilobase distances? This is about a cis-element that helps enhancers to increase substantially their genomic interaction capacity.. Cool! www.nature.com/articles/s41...

Today is #WorldCancerDay, a time to support those impacted, honor the memories of loved ones we've lost, and reflect on the important work we, as scientists, do.
This year's message, #CloseTheCareGap," reminds us that equitable access to cancer care is not just a goal; it's a necessity.

This is such a step forward! Kudos to the authors. KRAS is mutated in around 25% of cancers and was considered “undruggable”, being this a good example of how the drug discovery field is being changed quickly with new computing tools and power. Hopefully the impact to patients arrives also soon! 🚀
Excited to share our latest work, published this morning in Nature Biotechnology! 🎉 We developed a hybrid quantum computing-enhanced generative model to design KRAS inhibitors. Check it out here: rdcu.be/d68Fs.
