Around the world, education is under attack, impacting millions of children.

Attacks on schools are a grave violation against children.

On this International Day to Protect Education from Attack, join us in calling on world leaders to realize every child’s right to learn in safety.

The alarming increase in the use of explosive weapons in populated areas is a leading cause of child casualties in conflicts around the world.

Let’s #ProtectChildrenInConflict together. unicef.link/4fAtGiz
Killing and maiming children is a grave violation.

We must protect children and their rights in conflict.
This deadly new normal can change when we advocate for children.

For example, 88 countries around the world have committed to stop using explosive weapons in populated areas – a cause of over 70% of all incidents of killing and maiming.

Together, we can do more to protect children in conflict.
TAKE ACTION TO PROTECT CHILDREN AND THEIR RIGHTS IN CONFLICT

Every day, children in conflict zones around the world continue to come under attack.
We must reject this deadly new normal.

Here are a few ways to protect children in conflict:

Keep yourself informed through credible sources:
Access to accurate information is critical to understanding the realities children face in wars. Follow credible sources that prioritize evidence and voices on the ground.

Reach out to your elected leaders:
Demand that leaders protect children in conflict by contacting them via email, phone, social media or other avenues.

Support individuals and organizations:
Donate, sign up for emails, share posts and amplify the voices and experiences of those directly impacted by conflict and trusted organizations working for children's protection.

Keep taking action:
Advocating for and with children is an everyday responsibility. We will never give up on children. Join us.

“With each passing day of the aid blockade, they face the growing risk of starvation, illness and death – nothing can justify this.”

Full statement from UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell on the situation for children in the Gaza Strip after two months of aid blockade: unicef.link/3EBWsS5
The aid blockade and more than 18 months of war are pushing Gaza’s children to the brink.

We reiterate our call for the aid blockade to be lifted, for the entry of commercial goods into Gaza, for the release of
the hostages, and for the protection of all children. - Catherine Russell, UNICEF Executive Director
