Administrative bloat alienates college leaders from students and faculty. They can live in a fantasy world where they are successful and good at their jobs, detatched from the consequences of their actions. Our students deserve so much better. /fin

PCC Admin might present this “Self-Study” process as a win, but it has led to a severe blow to our college’s reputation, a rift between administration and educators, an Unfair Labor Practice charge against PCC , and very real negative impacts to our students. 8/

Faculty provided industry-specific data on student and graduate success, as well as pointing out several mistakes with the administration’s “data.” The process led to the closure of popular and successful programs at PCC. 7/

The process has been far from “radically transparent.” It placed an undue burden on faculty and program staff to justify their right to exist. It was pushed onto faculty with little time and no support. Many faculty members worked beyond their contracted hours to oblige this process. 6/

They presented this process as “radically transparent” and “data-driven" - a truly shocking claim. If they presented this to their own employees, they would have been laughed and booed off the stage.

PCC seems to be following the DOGE playbook of manufacturing a crisis and then making decisions without regard to contracts. "Move fast break things" isn't going to fly for our union. We intend to enforce the contract.
