Prime Day Savings Are Pouring In: Score a Deal on the Roku Streaming Stick Plus for 40% Off
Get the Roku Streaming Stick Plus if you want an easy streamer for guest rooms, dorms, rentals, or travel. The home screen uses big tiles that anyone can navigate, so family and visitors find Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, and YouTube without guidance. Since it tucks behind the TV and pulls power from USB, you can move it between rooms or toss it in a backpack for hotel TVs. AirPlay is handy for casting photos, music, or a quick clip from an iPhone or Mac, and the snappy menus make bouncing between apps painless.

I've Been a Tesla Driver for Years, But the Meager Price Cut on the New Standard Models Isn't Worth Losing These Perks
The big question is whether a small reduction in price is worth losing some of the electric car’s premium staples. I’ve driven a Tesla since 2018, when the Model 3 first debuted. I’ve also tested and reviewed a handful of other EVs, so I have a good handle on what’s important while driving one. The big takeaway? The roughly $5,000 difference between the Standard and Premium models isn’t enough to justify forgoing all the features being sacrificed.

On a Budget? There Are Still Some Incredible Prime Day Tech Deals for Under $25
The Amazon Smart Plug can be controlled via Alexa voice commands or the mobile app, allowing you to automate any device that can be plugged into it. For example, if you plug in your coffee maker, you can set up routines that can turn it on or brew coffee every morning. Its compact design also leaves room for additional smart plugs if needed. It's an incredibly affordable option, and now even more so thanks to this Prime Day deal. Contributing editor John R. Delaney awarded it a "Good" rating. In our Amazon Smart Plug review, he said, "The Amazon Smart Plug lets you control whatever is plugged into it using Alexa voice commands, and it integrates with other Alexa-enabled devices, but it doesn't work with other home automation platforms and lacks energy usage reporting."

What Kind of Screen Protector Should I Get for My Phone?
The glass on your phone has gotten a lot more scratch-resistant since the days of the iPod. Corning's Gorilla Glass will not scratch if you rub it with your keys or loose change, which is a big step forward. The iPhone Ceramic Shield screen, also from Corning, is supposed to be even tougher. However, it's not unscratchable, as some people believe. Take a look at this Google Pixel 2, for example. The scratches aren't deep, but they're definitely there.

3 Simple Steps to Stop Apps From Collecting Your Data
It should be easy to tell what kinds of information companies collect by reading the app’s privacy policy. Unfortunately, the reality isn't so straightforward. "I'm very hesitant to tell consumers to read privacy policies,” remarked Jen Caltrider, the project lead for Mozilla's Privacy Not Included team. "I read privacy policies for a living; they're mind-numbing. People that don't read them for a living don't really stand a chance." You can watch our conversation about maintaining privacy while using mobile apps above.
