I'm just so tired of gatekeeping and things not being fair and accommodating for people and actively pushing people out for dumb arbitrary rules that make no sense.

Like I said at the top I don't think I'll on elaborate on what spawned these thoughts but given my speedrun history people can probably guess what community I'm talking about.

People should be allowed to have input and offer up solutions or opinions regardless of whether or not they run a specific game in the series.

All people in a speedrun community should also be allowed to have a voice in any and all discussions unless its specifically something private for mods. Why are we gatekeeping people being able to have a voice just cause of someone not actively running a specific game?

Also why are we fucking gatekeeping how meaningful a world record is if there's only one person on the board and no competition? Only the person who has the world record should get to decide how meaningful it is and not having competition shouldn't make a world record less meaningful.

instead of just complaining that "no one runs these games" and saying that only having like 6 people on a leaderboard isn't enough to justify making leaderboard changes and maybe making things more accommodating in the first place would help people join and make things less dead.

I also don't think people have a right to complain about issues in a community if they actively don't care and don't even bother to attempt to try to fix any of the issues. If you want new people to join a community put some fucking effort in and promote the goddamn community and the runs

by this logic leaderboards shouldn't exist cause it promotes competition and by the logic of jesus everyone was created equal in god's image so therefore there should be no competition between speedrunners

I know I don't really have anything to offer in return but I'm just really upset and angry right now and there's no way I'm gonna be able to pay them all off by myself right now and this is kinda my last resort for anything I could possibly do

There's definitely still a lot of things that can be improved with this run but that's normal for a first run and for something that literally just came out a few days ago that doesn't have a lot of information about it online.
