Don’t worry Microsoft push notification engineer, we’ve all been there! 🤓

In other AI news, Meta launched a new AI-enabled SWE coding interview!

Instead of the "leetcode" questions that have been around for more than a decade (and are trivial to solve with AI), we're piloting a new format that:
- enables code execution so you can […]

TIL there is a world of gelatin art desserts

(The fact that this was hand made is nuts 🤯)

In the midst of all this AI discussion, I think an overlooked aspect is this excerpt from @dkthomp’s newsletter a while back.

It’s likely that AI skill will reach some asymptotic limit but humans might drift lower in our raw cognitive abilities over time […]

Google's nano banana image model is pretty nuts -- I feel like they've fully solved character & face consistency even with pretty wild style edits 🤯

It's also interesting to see them lean into this in terms of marketing alongside the Gemini name. It's the only […]

My main use case for running LLMs locally has been… when the flight WiFi goes out!

I’m playing through wind waker again on an emulator and got stuck a few times during the sailing sequences. It’s super convenient that you can download a model that compresses the […]

Loved this quote from Abundance (which I discovered from @dkthomp's newsletter):

> Imagine going to sleep in 1875 in New York City and waking up thirty years later. As you shut your eyes, there is no electric lighting, Coca-Cola, basketball, or aspirin. There […]

A story in three parts for the Robinhood equity tokens. Pretty crazy that the SEC is ok with this!

February 2023, the very first Threads war room and possibly the very first sunset photo we took together 🌆 @0xjessel @marius.schulz snapping their pics as well

Been a long journey since then 🥹

Survivor 50 cast was announced and it's going to be NUTS 🤯

We've got Mike White getting inspiration for White Lotus Season 4, Kyle and Kamilla who JUST finished Season 48, Ozzy the redemption island king, Colby the "no chocolate please" king, and so many other […]

I never knew about TRACONs, but this part seems the most wild to me:

> Whereas in N90, 9 or 10 “positions” in the facility might be assigned to the Newark Sector, at Philly, that number is reduced to two.

Regardless of technology or physical location, dumping […]

Honored to receive a limited edition @rileytestut Pokémon business card at SXSW! Big fan of the Delta app and how it’s redefined mobile gaming (and what the Apple App Store can do)

@mmccue thanks for hosting the whole Fediverse house 😇

Man of my word -- possibly the first conversion from a Threads ad? 🤔

They're a pretty unique/interesting candy too!

Ok Severance marketing keeps getting better — Apple released a preview of “The You You Are” book from the show and it’s *wild*. Love all these corners of the universe they’re fleshing out

A side effect of Bluesky’s AT protocol is that anyone can observe (and then index) blocks between accounts.

Which means you can build a website that literally shows who has blocked who, including top accounts like @mcuban, and… no one seems to care? 🤯

Never […]

Even Satya's tweet couldn't stop DeepSeek affecting the market 🤯📉
January 27, 2025 at 3:09 PM
Open source AI is so cool -- I'm running both DeepSeek r1 and Llama 3.2 side-by-side *completely locally* for the price of charging my macbook via Ollama.

No usage limits, no rate limiting, and state-of-the-art capabilities. Can't wait for this to be an option when using Cursor/VSCode

Popeye and Tintin have entered the public domain! Now I can sell fan fiction of Tintin-the-hacker and use Popeye to promote arbitrary apps...

Alright I’ll admit I enjoyed these two movies **way** more than I expected. A self-aware romcom with unexpected twists, and Jason Bateman driving a ton of tension (in the midst of relatable airport humor).
