atproto ≈ “what if every app worked like google reader”
I feel like this site's demographics can be described as "still mad about the loss of Google Reader"

youtube.com/watch?v=AuHq... A must watch. I am 100% in team keep-as-much-state-in-url-as-possible🤘. Plus useSuspenseQuery looks much more streamlined in the @tanstack.com start context!

It was not clear to me at once during the initial sign-up phase that you can change the handle to your own domain separately, since it only let me use the bsky.social handle or direct me to the self-hosting doc. Might be better to mention the handle can be easily changed during sign-up. 🤔

another important point — domains and hosting (gah!) have nothing to do with each other

domain is just your handle, you can change it many times while keeping your identity

hosting is just where your data lives, you can change it many times without changing how people refer to you

a custom domain only serves as a handle — it is not related to hosting. these two concepts are completely separate, think of domains as just a global username system

checking your account: atproto-browser.vercel.app/at/dmnd.me, serviceEndpoint says that your data is currently hosted by Bluesky
