Web developer, cyclist, motorist, humanist, a bit grumpy at times which is only alleviated by offering me a large glass of fine single malt.
My dad worked nights throughout my important years. In his final years (retired) he introduced me to "Guards! Guards!" and via your dad's work I discovered that I had a father after all instead of some distant grumpy figure heading off to work when I was heading off to bed. Happy birthday indeed.

Yes it does, very nicely.

Have you seen his ridiculous new portrait? Reminds me of Rex Kramer from Airplane.

Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day and for once I'm inclined to believe AI is right.

I'd heard of Lovecraft but it was one Halloween in the early days of the Web and someone had made a HTML page with illustrations with sounds effects and music to accompany The Outsider. Doesn't work now though, times have changed.

I wonder if they have an old radio monologue I heard when I was about 10. It was about the difficulties of riding bicycles to work during WWII when some people didn't have tyres and others didn't have handlebars.

It’s similar to how much better everything tastes when camping.

Even their status page is broken - metastatus.com

I'm just getting 'Unknown' for all their services.

Yeah, I get the °F thing is American but it's the use of 'literally' that throws me, people seem to use it for emphasis when really it's used to indicate something is to be taken literally. eg: A mountaineer friend had a narrow escape from an avalanche, he was so scared he literally shat himself.

Why "It's literally -4°", why not "It's -4°"? This abuse of the word 'literally' must stop. Units would be helpful too, -4°C is quite nice if the wind is calm and you have warm clothes.

There was a tree at Burton-in-Kendal, England that from the road looked like the Grim Reaper in a hooded cloak with a scythe over his shoulder. Can’t find the link but will see if I can find it once I get home.

I’d want the skeletal monster from Poltergeist.

“Heart thumpies” - I’ll have to remember that one for the next time I accidentally cruise through an entire tube of Pringles or a sharing bag of Doritos.

New flight corridors for yogic flying? How much runway would they need?

"It's not just for atheists" - You could put that on mugs beneath the book's logo and flog 'em on Etsy.

Ever struggled to know what to get an atheist for Christmas? Struggle no longer!
