Oded Lifshitz was one of the founders of Peace Now in the western Negev. But Oded was also a father, husband, grandfather, and a founding member of Kibbutz Nir Oz.

He was the salt of the earth.

He worked tirelessly for a just and lasting peace alongside Palestinian partners, yet he fiercely opposed the right-wing government’s funding of Hamas—only to be kidnapped and killed by them.

Update:

Shabbat is about to begin, and they waited until now to question Hagit. The bus driver was also taken in for questioning along with her. By the way, Hagit observes Shabbat.

The questioning is over, but Hagit is still there, waiting for the bus driver to be released.

The reason?

We planted trees in Masafer Yatta.

Apparently, for the Israeli police, joint actions between Israelis and Palestinians are grounds for arrest.
