so my parents gave my cousin and his wife $1000 in the red envelope for when they got married... and today my dad stopped by to give me my aunt's wedding gift & red envelope for my wedding. he was curious and was like tell me how much your aunt gave you guys...and it was $2000.

first day at new job doneeee. it was real good, got to attend my first creative review meeting with the team and a lot of good discussions and i really liked the energy. havent met any of the PMs yet but i will soon (theyre the ones im more nervous about since they can be karens)

was kinda excited/upset that i had to go back into office for my new job but they were like "well actually we know we hired you as hybrid mon-thu in office friday remote, but corporate actually doesn't have desk space for you so you're going to be remote until further notice".

i think it's very hard for me to celebrate my accomplishments. i know i should be proud of myself for landing a new job relatively quickly in this bad of a job market but i'm still stuck on the go go go mentality

lmao HR has fumbled so much throughout this process that their head reached out to me on linkedin saying how the team has had a great time interviewing with me etc to try to save face lol. i mean im taking the job but i can see how for other people applying they would be like nahhh im out

man feels kinda weird being offered this amount for my salary. ive always been at places that underpaid me for my experience or was lower than industry standard. its also the first time ill have a salary that my parents actually think is good lmao

whooooo got offer from the other place but since theyre changing the title from staff to senior i have to "reapply" and then they will give me the offer letter..... so still can't decline other place just yettttt

i think the interviews went well but also part of me is going to feel like a negative nancy until i get an official offer. im so anxious. the timing could be really good or bad since xmas is around the corner too

my dad is back in his hometown right now in taiwan and it flooded yesterday sigh. hes okay but just devastated since his town is small to begin with and the destruction looks pretty bad. my late grandparents house seems to be pretty ok minus flooding in the garage and third floor has some leaking
