That’s true. I’m excited for the learning, but sometimes I can’t help but feel like I should’ve started early. I’m no longer the youngest board artist on any given production like I used to be, and it sobers you up a lot when you realize you’ve wasted your youth not trying to be truer to yourself

I don’t think it’s as gloomy as I’m making it out to be; I’m finally working on anime now and I’ve had good reception to my work. But it’s hard not to be trapped in what-ifs. At the end I can only try my best, but once in a while I do gotta vent

Even for my OCs I have stopped working on their story because of just how scared I am that there’s something wrong with what I want to say. It’s sad to watch it kneecap my beliefs and vision. I was scared that I would be doing anime wrong, so I never tried to step in that space

If I hadn’t hesitated for five+ years , maybe I wouldn’t be struggling the way I am right now. I’m finally dipping my toe in anime, but it feels too late, like I’ve wasted all those years storyboarding doing something I didn’t fully believe in

Turning my bsky into a yap zone. Got a very sweet DM from an amazing animator saying they were inspired by my work from back in the day! It made me very happy, but a little bit of me is sad cause I feel like I’ve been so held back by fear I never took the plunge to animate like this person has

Haha thanks Julia! I find drawing for myself and showing to select friends in priv to be very therapeutic so for now that might be the trajectory for a whole. But I would love to start posting regularly again like I did pre-pandemic!

to be entirely fair this is me trying to break into the 2D animation/anime game with an LO/genga side gig lol. There's some skillsets that are transferrable from boarding to it but it's largely all new to me hence the struggle. Wish I had tried to break in earlier!
