It’s time to use the f-word. Trumpism is fascism.

The essence of fascism is in place. See the list 👇

All that’s needed to complete the fascist ascent are;
- territorial aggression
- the concentration of power in one individual or tight cabal.

And these are emerging by the day
pearsereynolds.bsky.social
Most key elements of fascism are evident in Trumpism;
- exploiting, not solving, grievances
- glorifying the leader
- targeting rivals and minorities as enemies
- attacking free media
- promoting division, racism, misogyny
- subverting the judiciary and the rule of law, domestic and international

It’s important to be aware that Miller has been a committed fascist for all of his grubby career.

He wrote Trump’s first inauguration speech, which George W so eloquently described as “weird shit”.

I know. Fanatical ideologues are always difficult to listen to.

Fascist media training must now include “If you goof, freeze and get a restart”
pearsereynolds.bsky.social
When I wrote that, people were still tentative about using the term fascism to describe Trumpism.
Less so now.

I think we should clarify what it is because:
1. Fascism is a methodology for acquiring absolute authority.
2. We know from history how it ends up - in mass death and destruction.

Claiming that Trump has plenary (absolute) authority is tantamount to declaring a totalitarian state.

Stephen Miller said the quiet part out loud. Trump has “plenary authority,” then suddenly went silent. Their plan wasn’t to be public yet. Clearly, someone hit the panic button in his earpiece.

It gets weirder: CNN uploaded the interview with the “plenary authority” comment edited out.

When you fail miserably, try to discredit the election.
Standard far-right approach. Nothing new here.

No doubt, his MAGA followers and rape condoners everywhere will condemn the UFC decision as a fix (in spite of McGregor accepting it), and a clear sign that the UFC is going WOKE ….
…. or some such nonsense. 😀

On St Patrick’s Day, Ireland’s National Day, he was invited to the White House by Trump. 😡

This was taken by many Irish as an insult to the Irish nation, and particularly to the Taoiseach (Ireland’s Prime Minister) who, by tradition, was also in the White House that day.

McGregor is widely despised in Ireland following the brutal evidence at the civil suit for rape.

He continued to have support from the MAGA world in the US, and was sponsored in his hopeless political venture “to save Ireland” (from what?) by Musk. He was given a platform by Hannity and Carlson.

It has just been announced that the coked-up rapist has been suspended by the UFC for failing to attend drug tests.

Cokehead rapist, Conor McGregor, has been banned by the UFC for failing to attend drug tests.

This follows his tapping out of the Irish presidential election before nominations, after polling 2%.

He was planning a bout on the WH lawn in June to celebrate the birthday of his orange fellow rapist.

What did he just say?

So Mike, release the Epstein files

TERRORISM EXPERT HERE:

This statement is a clear example of what is known as “State Terrorism”: When the dictatorship will order all instruments of its state security & intelligence apparatus against its own citizens to terrorize the population.

As one Catholic atheist to another, I know exactly what you mean. 👍

America is slowly sinking into the fascist abyss. But there are still powerful forces in their way

The army will be key. Trump/Hegseth wish to drag it into their campaign to take over the cities.

We’ll soon find out whether the army’s sworn loyalty to the Constitution means much in reality.

…. they must tighten their grip on American institutions.

Trump has subverted Congress, the judiciary and the media. MAGA are now attacking election integrity.

If they have to, they will find some Reichstag excuse to suspend them entirely. The US Constitution is looking shaky right now

I agree. JD is smarter and hence more dangerous. He has a better grasp of the fascist playbook, unlike Trump who is largely driven by his ego and gut - both monstrous.

But I’m not sure Vance can keep the same hold on the MAGA cult. So ….

Why isn’t America screaming for the 25th Amendment to be applied?

Is the nation getting too used to this shit?

Or is it that those behind him are even worse?
pearsereynolds.bsky.social
Your comparisons are absurd and your reasoning is insane. Kirk did not control an army.

It’s not for you to decide life or death. A key reason why I am anti-fascist is I believe fundamentally in the rule of law in a constitutional democracy.

You clearly don’t. I have nothing more to say to you.

My point was not whether his killing was justified. It wasn’t - murder never is.

My point was that his apparent beatification by right-wing ghouls is equally unjustified.
