Already halfway through the fantastic @ecvp.bsky.social‬ conference in Mainz!

It started beautifully with the Perception Lecture given by Astrid Kappers.

Looking forward to reading the paper linked to the lecture that will be published in Perception!

I really appreciated @mamassian.bsky.social's editorial in @pec-ipe.bsky.social about using LLMs for peer review. The review process faces serious challenges, to be sure: I don't know anyone who hasn't struggled to find reviewers these days. Still, we can't ignore the issues raised here.

"And just like microwaves are now mostly used to reheat old meals, LLMs mostly regurgitate some old text that they were trained on. This is hardly what we expect when we ask reviewers to critically evaluate the quality of an original manuscript."

Definitely worth a read 💭

Great piece about the importance of spending time with your colleagues over coffee.Totally the kind of thing that probably looks "inefficient" to some, but leads to so many valuable outcomes. #VisionScience
