I write things (sporadically https://www.patreon.com/Pecunium) I make things (yarn, woven goods, minor woodworking). I take photographs (and teach photography).

I'm moderately polymathic (though maths are not my thing)

Welcome to my place

Partly because we’ve used it as an example of how simple editing works, so students understand that a photo doesn’t need to be “perfect“ straight out of the camera.

Since the contact sheet is also easy to find.

SSPX is pulling the rip-cord.

Thing is, they have no leverage.

Leo won’t excommunicate them, they are doing it themselves.

Consecrating a bishop without papal approval excommunicates the participants. Bell, book and candle don’t enter the equation.

There are so many layers of assumption/presumption in this post.

Most of which I disagree with, and a few of which are fallacious; and structured so as to hide those fallacies.

The first one, the grossly unethical (and patently immoral) one is the second clause.

Rob says today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #Reflections, any bird reflection, the Alt theme is #Paridae any of the Paridae Species (Tits).

#birds #photography

I don't have any "clean" reflections, ready to hand.

I know where it is.

I was making a visual comparison.

It’s easier to get to Daphne Major (though permission to land is not).

That said no one can survive there, so more accessible, less hospitable.

This is what Daphne Major looks like.

Not sure if these are quite what you’re looking for.

I forgot to include the email I got, telling me about it.

It's got a lot more detail than the online comment.

Don't mess with fiber artists.

They are patient, have attention to detail, and long memories.

They will fuck you up.

This.

There is a book I adore, "The Supper of the Lamb". The allegory can be ignored; which is why it's such a great book, and one of the things Fr. Capon praises, says we need more of, is Amateurs.

But it's not as if he's seems to have much understanding of how things work.

So his implication that he's not advocating surrender rings hollow.

Nor, given how he characterises what is being said, do I think him arguing in good faith. Which makes his popularity depressing.

The thing I miss is right now I can't "see in black and white".

Back "in the day" I had color slide film in the F3, and the FE2 with B&W. Made the bag heavier, but I could say, "this wants monochrome" and not be disappointed.

The "color space" on the mirrorless makes it a bit easier to do now.

"The Vatican's doctrine chief warned that blogs and online commentators increasingly claim a theological authority they do not possess, narrowing the church's ability to holistically engage faith and reality."
