All living things. Sanity is a garden to be tended. Facts always. Kindness. It’s bigger than us.
It’s the “attribution fallacy”: that smart clever people become rich. The strongest correlative with future wealth is the postcode you are born in. (There’s published research on this somewhere and George Monbiot has written about it.) It’s down to luck.

None of is can afford to give up.

But who are they addressing? Who
takes them seriously? (I just don’t think you needed to share their bigotry.)

Pretty much sums it up. They are doing it now. Everyone
piled on David Suzuki for saying we are stuffed but seriously…

The contradiction must break them eventually. You can’t have an envoy travelling the world trying to halt FF burning while endlessly approving new FF sources. It’s just a question of whether their heads explode before ours do.

From bogus nature laws to support for the filthy salmon industry, from obscene gas exports to fossil fuel approvals, from support for Israel to AUKUS, from failure to tackle the housing crisis to …You get the picture. Labor betrays us over and over again.

Hmm. That is a jaguar not a leopard, by the way.

“Republicans, the ball is in your court.”!!!
Chuck it should be more than obvious by now: the Republicans are not playing ball. They’ve taken the ball and left the field.

How quickly “social cohesion”lapses into enforced political conformity.
February 10, 2026 at 1:26 AM
They are going to need a very tame Judge to uphold that charge.

I’ve been reading The Guardian for over 40 years. It publishes Left opinion but it’s a complete myth that its’ news coverage is, or ever was, Left leaning. It tries never to leave the centre ground and as a result has always regularly carried water for Tories.

Indeed. Attribution Fallacy writ large.

So, only banned if used “to cause menace, harassment or offence”. What does that even mean? It implies that intent will have be proven.

Yes I will try getting them to look at the website.

Great work. It’s a good summary. Thanks for reply. Kind of thing my neighbours, who are all for Pauline, need to see.

Is this table on line somewhere? I need to be able to print it out.

It’s the attitude of Mandelson: that they are chosen; that they have uniquely valid points of view and know best; that they need not entertain doubt. Rarely ends well.

We can talk about Overton Windows and the structure of politics, the distortion of power by billionaires and mega-corps, but in the end these decisions go to the character and honesty the politicians who make the final decisions. They know what they are doing. It’s unconscionable. No excuses.

Yes well he’s only there because the media doesn’t do its job.

Have we spent too much on roads and tunnels?

Amongst the very few who would ever have given it any thought, there will be some who think they are but aren’t and others who think they aren’t but are, because that’s how goes with Straussians.

I challenge anyone to read the second paragraph and immediately understand it. Where was the editor?
February 3, 2026 at 11:59 PM
Come on guys! How can you avoid the obvious? These people - all these people in Epstein’s orbit - have too much power and it has to be taken away. If not by taxing their wealth, then how? They act with impunity. Reforming Parliamentary rules is only half the picture.

Very much like what happened to the Zoological Parks and Gardens Board - now “Zoos Victoria” - back in the 90’s. Act was rewritten; Board no longer experts but trying to drive “cultural change”; management turned over repeatedly by force; endless restructuring. Horrible.
