Yes, France is also supposed to get Frontier and Delta from Anime Limited. I hope that their recent acquisition by Toho won't ruin everything, just the way Rightstuf buyout by Crunchyroll did. Macross Seven, through, hasn't been announced anywhere since Rightstuf.

I also have to say that France may be an exception since we're getting home video releases alongside the US and UK (Plus and Zero). But that's only because English publisher Anime Limited got a French branch and often releases common stuff in both English and French.

So yes, the Macross worldwide roll out isn't working good. Maybe Big West isn't interested, despite they claimed working on expanding content to more countries with more languages 6 months ago. Or maybe it's pure incompetence.

Not only France, but all Europe, Latin America, Middle East, and tons on other countries are excluded from this streaming, for unknown reason. Just check the available subtitles. There should be English, Chinese and Korean only. No French, Deutch, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic...

Yup. Some influential people and media remain quiet, explaining the urban legend of Macross sequels streaming worldwide, but that's actually, totally wrong. It's only available on Disney+ in more or less 20 countries (Asian and English-speaking only) when the service is active in more than 100.

And please, I'm not talking about SDF and DYRL. I'm talking about everything from FB2012 to Delta that is supposed to be cleared for a worldwide release since 2021. That's seemingly not the case.

Streaming on Disney+ in particular is a disaster, with content only available in more or less 20 countries when the service is active in more than 100. Dunno who or what's responsible for this, but that's a terrible ratio. And translations deadlines are no more enough to explain those delays.

Je me suis fait la même remarque quand je l'ai reçu.

Dispo uniquement sur les Disney+ asiatiques et anglophones. Quant à savoir pourquoi, aucune idée. Silence radio du côté de Disney+ comme du côté de Big West.
December 31, 2025 at 9:45 PM
(Evidemment, je dis ça tout en sachant pertinemment qu'en France, on a la chance insolente et unique, hors Asie et anglophonie, de bénéficier des licences ATA UK via ATA FR)
December 27, 2025 at 9:22 AM
Yup. And most of the world still can't watch anything related to Macross since content is streaming on Disney+ in Asia and English-speaking territories only, without any legal alternative for the countries left apart.

The only statement we ever had is this one, but it's not enough after all this time. He could say the same thing next year and the year after that and so on, and no one in the audience would question him about it.

Nah, pretty sure they don't.
With the upcoming Macross, I'm giving Big West one last chance to prove us they want to do things corrrectly. If the simulcast is still restricted, it will definitely prove that they don't care.

I'd say that it all depends on Big West and Creative Sphere's will for the franchise globally. Like I always said, it's really, really hard to believe that no foreign company asks for at least Macross Frontier. It's still hugely popular and that's the best entry point for the franchise.
December 9, 2025 at 8:20 AM
In any case, Anime Limited releasing Macross stuff is France is a proof that there's no more legal issue. If content isn't coming outside Asia and English countries, that's only because of Big West and/or Creative Sphere. And Disney+ for the streaming.
December 9, 2025 at 8:14 AM
Yes, Macross Plus theater screenings this fall are the very first thing they did for Latin America since the 2021 agreement. It's also Big West and Creative Sphere very first step outside their comfort zone (Asia and English-speaking territories).
December 9, 2025 at 8:10 AM
I'm starting to believe it's a true miracle that Big West allows Anime Limited UK to release stuff in France through its French branch, considering how they seem to not care about other markets. Yes Macross Plus movie was screened in Latin America. Took them nearly 5 years for "only" that.
