Grades submitted! Might be time to slay demons and dragons and all things evil.

I have been grading papers all day. Is it time to reward myself with hot hockey players looking longingly at each other (among other things)? Yes. Yes it is.

I will not, in fact, be "saving the date."

If you're looking for a way to give back, consider the Midnight Mission's toy drive. I picked an art kit, a gigantic stuffed unicorn, and sports gear. 🌲🎁

Tomorrow is my last day of teaching this quarter, and even though I have enjoyed my students quite a bit--they are a seriously good bunch--I just need the quarter to be over. Please.

Alright new Knives Out movie, you better make me laugh.

There is a grade-A mean girl on Survivor and I loathe her. Not in a love to hate way, just hate. She's the worst high school mean girl you ever knew and I may have to quit this show.

I saw it in the theater and it was brilliant. Beautiful, heartbreaking, clear-eyed.
The very lovely TRAIN DREAMS, starring the very lovely Joel Edgerton and based on Denis Johnson's acclaimed novella, premieres on Netflix tomorrow after its brief theatrical run (if you can catch it in a theater, do):

Sometimes when you get labeled a mean girl it's because you are one. (This is a Survivor post.)

It's wild* that a sitting president telling a reporter "quiet piggy" is not a national scandal.

*completely normal in our current times

Commenting on papers and a student used the phrase "the late 1900s," and while he's not wrong, it still gutted me.

This is repugnant. She should be publicly shamed for the rest of her miserable days.
Megyn Kelly: "I know somebody very close to this case…Jeffrey Epstein, in this person's view, was not a pedophile…He was into the barely legal type, like he liked 15 year old girls…He wasn't into like 8 year olds…There's a difference between a 15 year old and a 5 year old."

This should be the lead story of every news outlet. It's all about the grift.
AOC: "It is unconscionable that what we are debating right now is legislation that will give 8 senators over $1 million a piece & we're robbing people of their food assistance & healthcare to pay for it. How can we vote to enrich ourselves by stealing from the American people?"
