Tony, may God hold your adoptive father in the palm of his Her hand. May She give you and your family grace that helps ease all the complicated feelings that may arise. May you and your family be safe, may they be healthy, may they be happy and may they live and grieve with ease.

Susan, I am so happy for you. You have waited a long, long time. Mazel tov!

I laughed out loud when I saw it.

For goodness sake. I’d rather die of a terrorist attack in Brooklyn than live in Utah.

Cruel and unusual punishment indeed. Shame on you, Supreme Court!

It was September 1967, flying to begin my freshman year at Santa Clara University. I was given a 5-cigarette pack with my meal. I split that pack with two other girls in my dorm. And I smoked for another 15.5 years.

I’ve been a long time fan of your transit reporting. It grieves me that you are a Yankees fan.

Hi, Gretchen, I am a birth mother who is deeply thankful for all you have done to shine a light on adoptees and birth mothers and fathers.

We birth mothers were also brainwashed to believe we didn’t have the right to search for the children we surrendered. This was not intended to protect us or our children. Secrecy was, and is, designed to protect adoptive parents and the adoption industry.

Zohran’s table-snatching article makes me want to vote for him early and often!

Also: “Terrible, thanks for asking.”

Nope. We were a post- war baby boom as returning service men and women began having (or adding to their) families.

During the Viet Nam War, National Guard troops fired live rounds at unarmed citizens at an anti-war protest at Kent State University.

I am old enough to remember an episode of the Marcus Welty tv show where the murdered nearly got a way with murdering his victim because he staged it as a driving accident, hitting him with his car.

What happens to current mandated funding — eg Title I?

Oliver, we should add “and make grandma eat cat food.”

Katie, this is a real loss at a particularly brutal time for us. Thank you for all you have done to keep us informed and well-armed. I will follow you wherever you go next! Shame on MSNBC!

Stalin is kvelling in his grave to see Trump also trying to rewrite history. Transgender folks led the way at Stonewall!

Sad but true, Elie!

In this case, DOGE (pronounced “dodgy”) Commissars.

Thank you, Marisa. I needed the laugh.

Repealing the VPPP eliminates the only applicable exception to the law which prohibits using tolls on federal aid highways for transit. Repealing the VPPP means the end of NYC’s congestion pricing program (unless Congress also rescinds the law prohibiting the use of tolls for transit).
