anyways, the best thing about my cringe-ass webcomic is that I don't need to rely on monetizing it to survive.

I married the suspiciously wealthy furry. I'd do it again. (I love her) this comic exists because she likes seeing me draw her as a little bunny rabbit and so do I.

if advice A is "do what you have to do to finish the thing, don't overpolish if it keeps you from creating"

the healthy and reasonable response to that advice is not "if it's not perfect, you should quit"

like, fuck off.

comics are, specifically, about drawing the exact amount of art you need to vomit the story out of yourself as quickly as possible, and no more.

for some people, for some panels, that's going to involve fully fleshed out backgrounds. but not always.

being extremely cringe because you NEED to make something extremely weird that most people will not like is a painful process.
it's not supposed to feel easy, or polished, and it will never come out perfect, because it's not that kind of art.

I do think you should make comics because you're compelled to. any kind of indie art should be like that, the really great stuff comes out of compulsion, the sort of built up pressure that can only be (momentarily) relieved by making yourself heard.

but like, it's also painful.
