“This year’s Labour Conference has shown once again how out of step Starmer’s Government is with the wider labour movement.

The Conference vote demanding a full arms embargo and further sanctions on Israel marks an unprecedented challenge to Starmer’s moral and political authority. Meanwhile, trade unions and CLP delegates voted for a wealth tax and a genuine end to Tory austerity - a stark contrast with Starmer's relentless attacks on the welfare state.

Unfortunately, his speech showed little awareness of the need for direction after repeated warnings from CLPs, trade unions and Party members. If his Government fails to change course, it could prove fatal for Labour at the ballot box.”

But the genocide and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians continues.
