There is entertainment value in hate-reading bad media. I love to think about & dissect the failures of the work w/ specific examples, and look at what it succeeds at, esp popular media. It’s rly fun for me lol

I hope bad media motivates ppl to make things in the “I can do it better” type of way.

Which is to say, the author takes great care of you, very kind & thoughtful wish fulfillment customer experience lol ☺️ Not my personal cup of tea, but I understand the value. Plus it has phenomenal art; big cool dynamic energy in their action shots.

Solo Leveling is straight up wish fulfillment power fantasy, but it’s done very well—like a video game with a very satisfying learning curve and makes you (the self insert underdog turned pro-gamer) feel very good in careful ways that largely avoid being too cringe/cheap.
