A moderate argument:
P1) ending ones life requires a clear state of mind
P2) most suicidal people are not in a clear state of mind
P3) if one is not in a clear state of mind, then you shouldn’t be allowed to commit suicide
P4) therefore most suicidal people should not be allowed to commit suicide

Well why not?? Don’t you think it’s someone’s right to commit suicide? Or are you agreeing with me that sometimes people are wrong in their assessment that suicide is the best path for them?

Yes, it’s totally and definitely a chud take to prevent people from committing suicide. You caught me.

Btw, does this mean you are against people promoting the suicide prevention hotline, or any suicide prevention??

Euthanizing people who are suffering and can’t be helped, is probably good. Allowing a temporarily depressed person on heavy drugs to commit suicide, is probably not good because we know their decision to commit suicide is not one made in a clear rational state of mind.

People obviously and clearly have an obligation of preventing one from committing suicide if it’s clear that the suicidal person is not in a clear state of mind (e.g someone on drugs).

Worst take oat. People are sometimes in temporarily altered states of mind and make bad decisions. It seems incredibly irresponsible to grant the wishes of these type of people without regard to the sanity of their state of mind.

Are you dumb? The main transit system in Nevada is the Regional Transportation Commission, which is a public agency.

Most of the federal aid NV and TX receives is used on healthcare, education, transportation, and welfare programs. how does this not count as the federal government subsidizing the people of NV and TX? one more thing: CA is #6 when it comes to access to healthcare,NV & TX arent even in the top 10
November 28, 2024 at 5:39 AM
Lets compare Nevada and Texas to California: NV received 16.4% of its total revenue from the federal government, TX received 22.9% of its total revenue from the federal government. CA only received 14.5%, among the lowest out of all the states. Blue states absolutely subsidize red states.
November 28, 2024 at 3:28 AM
why is it that red states, some of which have no income tax, always leach of blue states in the form of receiving more federal aid compared to blue states? If right-wing economics is so good, why are all the blue states the money making states in the US?
