Defined by logical minimalism, existential humility, and non-anthropocentric realism. Private account and opinions.
Unfortunately it is. The Netherlands loaned the Margraten land to the USA in honor of American soldiers who died in WWII; the U.S. manages the cemetery through the American Battle Monuments Commission.

I’d argue that no country can truly be called ‘rich’ if it fails to provide basic, affordable healthcare and social security, let alone if it leaves families with hungry children unfed.

Yeah, and that’s exactly what happened back then. Many people in the 1930's looked past the hate because the economy started doing better, all built on the development of a war industry and infrastructure that created a lot of jobs.

I think the USA will survive, but the damage will be significant and it is unlikely to completely recover. I expect this decade will be remembered as the point where China took over economic and military dominance, and the USA lost its credibility as the leader of the free world.

Luckily where I live we have a good local alternative for Amazon so I have no need for them, but I can imagine it is difficult if there is no alternative available.

Slowly switching to more privacy-friendly apps and tool, trying out Proton Mail, Calendar, HERE Maps, Glympse, and a Fairphone with e/OS. Also testing a de-Googled Chromium on Linux. Leaving Google is definitely a challenge, but I’m taking it one step at a time before closing it down.

Happy to share that I’ve left both platforms. I also switched from Microsoft to Linux this weekend, next up: Google. Slow but steady progress

I’m moving away from U.S. technology wherever I can, especially the ones that bend the knee, such as Windows, Meta, and Google. I admit it’s uncomfortable. The big U.S. tech companies are superior to alternatives, but I’m taking it one step at a time.

Ukrainian successes against the invaders always fill me with a positive feeling and some hope that in the end Ukraine will get back all the territory that was stolen. Wishing you all the best Angelica.

I think they blame Kamala because the alternative would be blaming themselves for not voting, which creates a lot of cognitive dissonance, especially if you see yourself as a defender of the Palestinian cause.

'The lord' according to this Jordan must be a real fascistic and rascist deplorable. Why would anyone want to worship something like that or even call it 'lord'. Just my thinking.

I dare to say that even people who seem to like him are just pretending. Even the ones flattering him and offering him gifts.

I figured it was so clear it’d happen that it had to be on purpose. So now they’re saying they didn’t see it coming?
