2. After years of tending this way, I made the conscious decision to be sober-ish. I can count on one hand how often I drink in a month, and now when I do it is to appreciate the bartender's or winemaker's artistry.

3. I made an effort this year to develop a green thumb and grow my own food. I only got one cucumber, but the plants lived all season. That's a huge improvement!

5. I've visited some of those smaller music venues as a performer, too! We pushed ourselves to perform more and succeeded. We are also releasing an album, and all the producing and editing I learned in college is coming back.

Another fall excursion to the desert. Sedona is gorgeous with so much geological history literally steps away. Hiked up and around Cathedral Rock, went off-roading in Coconino National Forest, and sampled some amazing Arizona wine!

Update: I have tomatoes and cucumbers! The hot peppers are faring well, too, and the lone okra is holding on. The lettuce and onions didn't make it, though.

An update: after forgetting to get seedlings started for 2 weeks, I finally got them in the pods. After only 48 hours, I have lettuce! The okra, onions, and thyme are showing activity, too.

An update: after forgetting to get seedlings started for 2 weeks, I finally got them in the pods. After only 48 hours, I have lettuce! The okra, onions, and thyme are showing activity, too.
