Had the privilege of being shown some meteorites and a piece of Mars (glass cube) as a part of the Natural History Museum Student Conference. How cool is that?! As a life scientist, it was exciting to meet the geology staff and learn about their research uncovering the mysteries of the cosmos.

The Honey Possum of Southwest Australia is unique beyond belief. It’s the only non-flying mammal to survive on only pollen and nectar, has the largest testes to body mass ratio of any mammal AND is born weighing 3-5mg (grain of rice). They also are really cute. Photo Credit: Christine Cooper.

Birding has become one of things in my life that can truly bring peace. Even in a big city, where many species are introduced or non-native, birding is a great opportunity to find beauty in the, at times, mundane and chaotic metropolis. I am envious of their freedom and resilience.
