Got GTA San Andreas working under Proton v5.13. I cannot believe how easy this has made gaming on Linux. I'm still impressed.

Finally worked out the nvidia driver issue on Linux Mint, I installed Ubuntu instead :P

Turns out the pain I was suffering with linux mint was predictably nvidia. Their display drivers somehow nuked my ability to connect online in any way. No ethernet, no WiFi, not even tethering. I am not reinstalling mint for a fourth time. Just going to grab arch and be done with it tomorrow.

Nuked Windows 10 from orbit. Clean install of Linux Mint. I'm pleasantly surprised how painless Steam is on Linux these days.

My jury summons is tomorrow. Should be a boring and dry affair just to be told at the end of the day "thank you for your time, you can go" after taking a days leave from work unpaid. That is the best case scenario, if selected it will really fuck up the next few weeks. The joys of civic duty.

Finally got rid of my FB account. Deactivated. Will have to keep messenger, unfortunately since half my family are too ingrained in Meta's ecosystem to migrate elsewhere. Also in the process of degoogleing myself. Have protonmsil setup. It's a long process.

(2/2) It's just kind of there. I am enjoying it a lot but I keep thinking about how the horror aspect just seems tacked on as an afterthought or just an excuse to put you in X environment to move the story along.

(1/2) F.E.A.R. is a strange game. Its a first person shooter with a Max Payne style slowdown mechanic, ostensibly a horror title, I say ostensibly as you as the player don't really interact with the horror aspects.

Kind of sad seeing the people who cared and nurtured us growing up being radicalised by AI slop now. Makes holidays even harder than they need to be.
