In saying that, I wouldn’t recommend any of my customers make us-east-1 their primary or default region. Sure the cost is often cheaper but you get these issues

Yep I don’t think it’s fair to criticize customers. AWS break us-east-1 pretty well consistently before reinvent each year. An update to dynamodb shouldn’t take out half the internet. Maybe they should do a well architected review on themselves? 🤷‍♂️

I think AWS has fundamentally changed… it’s not the same org of 10-15 years ago and that’s reflected in people’s attitude towards them
