I’m all for more public gyms but not to do it in the most expensive places to develop on earth, where people who already have access to gyms are. The money would go a lot further almost anywhere else. The reason is as always they’re jackasses pushing a narrative results don’t matter

Utilities are the very definition of a natural monopoly, they cannot have competition by their very nature. I would go far as to say whether it is a natural monopoly or not is the first determinant of whether it should be public or private

And armed conflict is one of them. Yeah we don’t want military buildup to spiral but simply pretending that armed agrression and military force dont exist doesn’t do better. Ireland will never be a major military power but it could be a voice of powerful moral suasion playing a supporting role

I mean go ahead and be neutral but it’s not a praiseworthy stance. When you stand for doing nothing in the face of military aggression thats not principled that is simply avoiding the messiness of the real world and standing with aggressors. The real world requires us to wade into difficult issues

It’s really the opposite. People like him love shit that provides meaningless outlets. The “community” is anonymous and can be tweaked to prevent anything really important getting through, it gives a surface level feeling that truths winning but psychologically likely reduces real action.
