If the UK government proscribes Palestinian Action as a terrorist group, it will have given in to Trump-style repression of free speech. The group is far from a terrorist group, but feels passionately about our government’s uncritical support of Israel’s ethnic cleansing by continuing to arm them.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Re your discussion this morning: Iran’s regime is widely hated, but, because of Gaza, so is Israel’s. If Netanyahu achieves regime change, he’ll be lionised widely and Gaza will lose the focus. The nuclear risk is just an excuse to try and save his tarnished reputation.

Once again, the Trump administration gives carte blanche to both Putin and Netanyahu by not condemning Putin’s threats to retaliate for Ukraine’s bombing of Russia’s planes, and by vetoing the UN resolution calling for a ceasefire. US policy is egregious and inhumane.

Big shout out for Cyril Ramaphosa who, hijacked by Trump with a biased video, responds with such grace. No president has ever behaved with such egregious rudeness.

I think the negative reaction to Gary Lineker’s unfortunate tweet is dreadful. I’ve spoken to many people and every one - like myself - had absolutely no idea of the offensive image that was apparently antisemitic. He removed it and apologised and that should be enough.1/2

The Labour Party has shown that it’s more interested in immigration than doing anything to improve our care system. By ending the care visas, we will see closures of care homes and a much poorer home care system, my brother-in-law is having to go into a care home partly because of a lack of carers.

Trump’s decision to withhold support for Ukraine is further evidence that his true motivation has nothing to do with peace and everything to do with handing a victory to Putin the aggressor. Trump is a traitor to the West. Putin clearly has some sort of hold over him.
