Will Ukraine's allies have the foresight, and cojones, to seize the opportunity offered? I truly hope so (but I'm not holding my breath.)

It may be too soon to celebrate, but it's difficult not to! This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to put Russia firmly in its place (11th economy in the world, between Canada and Mexico), so that it will be unable to invade, threaten and destabilise Europe, for a couple of generations at least.

And the murderous Assad regime in Syria has finally fallen, in spite of 9 years' worth of Russian propping up.
(And let's not even talk about the precarious, crumbling sh*tshow that the Russian economy has become.)

Now the Romanian Constitutional Court has taken the, as it seems to me, brave and radical step of completely annulling its recent presidential elections, because of the depths of Russian interference uncovered.

Moldova has kept its independence, and its trajectory towards Europe and away from Russia, in spite of major attempts by the Kremlin to interfere in its recent presidential elections.

Georgia is trying, for the second time in twenty years, to free itself from Russia's tentacles, with a popular uprising that looks remarkably similar to Euromaidan.

Ukrainians have heroically withstood every kind of sh*t that Russia has been throwing at them for the last ten years, and Ukraine remains a proud, free and independent country, against all odds.

It's a street I know well. One I've often walked along, where I often worked, visited people, had coffees and lunches. One where good friends used to live.
