Pointed a camera at news for decades, now doing mirror checks from the passenger seat
Reading a Patricia Routledge obituary realised I probably saw her in Noises Off, just transferred to The Savoy.
Still my favourite stage farce.
Michael Frayn also wrote one of my favourite TV comedy dramas.
First and Last, 1989. Stealing the show from a fantastic ensemble cast, Patricia Routledge.

Here I am in 2020 in the flimsiest, most pitful PPE - like so many other NHS staff, some of whom died from the Covid they caught in their hospitals.

Tory peer Michelle Mone - who today lost her legal case & must repay the govt £122m - dares to claim she’s been ‘scapegoated’.

What, Michelle? 🧵

Listening to Test Match Special.
Over the years it feels like I turn on the radio and a wicket falls.
Today, phone to Bluetooth speaker while I do a bit of DIY. Swapped from my wife’s phone to mine.
Archer takes Gill’s wicket.

Oh dear. I think whoever wrote the review of dog friendly beaches in today’s iPaper has watched too many episodes of Vera.

I’m a couple of days late to this.
Yup, looks like the UK summers I remember 🙂
We have an announcement.

It's #midsummer in #Orkney. It's June. It is LITERALLY summer.

Our balls are wet.

Apparently it was made next month.

Re: Home Office guidance supposedly issued in 2008 advising police not to intervene in child grooming cases because victims had ‘made an informed choice about their sexual behaviour’?

BBC Verify found no evidence any document containing that advice exists

It has only been two days but we already have 22 seconds more daylight that we had on the #WinterSolstice on Saturday. 💡

By Christmas Day it will be 84 seconds more.
By the end of December it will be more than 8 minutes.
By the end of January it will be almost 2 hours. ☀️
Just after 2pm today in #Orkney. Early sunset as we approach the #WinterSolstice. 🌅

This is pretty much our traditional Christmas Eve.
It’s my daughter’s 16th birthday. Her request tonight? Chinese takeout, chocolate cake, and Die Hard.

No notes.

About to put it back on our Morpeth doorstep I looked at this milk bottle
Advertising a craft fair which was more than 30yrs ago in Kemerton (me too, Worcestershire)
Also embossed “property of Cotteswold Dairy” (Tewkesbury)
Has this humble bottle really been visiting doorsteps and fridges for 30ys?

A little Christmas present to ourselves has just arrived. An amusing reminder of 2008 when the Wansbeck came into our home.

I watched NUFC v Liverpool live on TV.
About to go to bed MOTD starts, and I watch a brilliant summary of the match.
Phenomenal talents to produce such an excellent highlights programme so quickly.
