Getting about the outdoors on bikes, feet, skis & boats, working at NHS Medical Physics, worrying about the world in a leftish way, increasing doses of urbanism, searching for a Round Tuit around Dundee, Scotland...
So have a partner that already knows because they want the same things...

Works for me! (and her)

But if you've just bought bikes recently then you only have n bikes...

I don't have the problem so don't know exactly what you're experiencing, but different handlebar styles and riding positions may well load the problem joint less problematically, I would guess particularly if you're on drops/hoods.

I would say a more accurate description is many typically don't regard speeding as a crime as it is often not immediately obvious who's being harmed by the speeder. Similarly illegal parking.
Like drink/driving, it needs a culture change to highlight the harm done and make it *culturally* wrong.

I doubt that's accurate. There's quite the difference between designing/prototyping yourself with manufacture contracted out and just rebranding generic product, and I think Endura do the former.

Was going to get my 8-Freight repainted RAL5020 (a near match) with a yellow fork, but @kineticsglasgow.bsky.social remembered just in time that the back's glued on and that might not be a Good Thing in a powder coating oven.

Shame, as Mike Burrows design chops were not matched by his paintwork...

I think the old "Rail Blue" was chosen as it was a nice enough colour and didn't show up dirt too much...

Don't recall ever thinking (or hearing of anyone else thinking) that it somehow wasn't patriotic enough 🤷‍♂️

Endura /ought/ to be an obvious port of call for me, a Scottish brand that make good stuff and where I can get a good discount thanks to being a Cycling Scotland accredited instructor...
But with the mince they're putting out on helmets I really prefer to avoid them 🙁

Not on their own they won't, and rubbish plans have them for window dressing, but good plans *need* targets to work properly.
In other words, while targets don't necessarily mean good, no targets typically means bad.

So let's have targets (and use them properly)

Having used all 8 gears I had around Nijmegen, it's not all pan-flat polders...

Though nearby we met up with my wife's octagenerian aunt who walks with a stick but had no problems getting about the area on her e-trike.

Excellent!
My son's first "proper" gig was The Rezillos, he still wears the Flying Saucer Attack T I got him there years later 🛸🎶

And here we get the conflict of a genuinely good thing that deserves funding, but where that money should come from the government because cycling is a life skill that should be given to all children as part of the school curriculum, much like swimming lessons and water safety have been since 1994

Blimey.
"Thoughts and prayers" famously no use, but they're all* I can offer 😞

* not that I'm religious, mind...

The recipe book/"oatobigraphy" this is from is a great mix of stories and sport fuelling snacks that are actually good eating: recommended!

To be fair I think most of us have probably say Celsius rather than Centigrade now, though apparently the Express still likes Fahrenheit temperatures in its weather forecasts.

Did an NHS Quality Improvement course all about how to manage positive change. Good evidence-based stuff!
Our instructor pointed out that if you're only armed with carrots nothing is likely to happen.

My own reflection, if you're used to swimming in shit then having to swim in shit isn't a stick!

Depends on your idea of "hideous", of course, but we got our daughter a VauDe one that converted between pannier and rucksack she didn't reject out of hand for using as a school bag when she was a teenager - high praise indeed!
Cycle 28 model if memory serves.

Ortlieb Vario is good but expensive.

They've also driven demand for tanks by stopping making smaller cars. If I go to the Small Cars tab of the Ford (UK) website it has... no models.

Recumbents had already been banned from competition by the Luddites of Lausanne a couple of years earlier.

What is this "leftover" crumble of which you Earth-people speak? 🤔
November 14, 2025 at 11:07 AM
Training is completely normal in NL, but of course we're looking at training to use sane infrastructure designed for normal people, not an assault course with a trip to A&E as a very real option.
