I agree that’s entirely appropriate providing any references to specific hardware, software and tech (particularly internal network services) being used was kept out of it. Any details provide great exploitation vectors for future attacks.

I think they can report. It’s just the level of detail requested/expected. Any info can be exploited for a future attack so any org
Should be careful. I work in local Govt and we only report cyber in confidential committee

Agreed. Whether it was a phish or something else, we don’t know. Maybe an unpopular opinion but I don’t think they need to disclose to us however I do think they should be fully disclosing to NCSC & that can feed back via advisories etc.

Interestingly, according to Govt procurement rules, any vendors providing services to Govt should be able to supply a recent security audit. I don’t know how rigorously that is enforced though

Same. I actually quite like it, especially the speed with which they can deliver results etc. but I couldn’t tell you who they are and the quality of protection and security wrapped around their app and portal.

I think so. Lacking some basic IT Sec oversight of they didn’t bother DMARC/DKIM and a decent SPF approach. DMARC isn’t hard, you just have to spend time on it and they apparently couldn’t be bothered

Our local practice was bought by some national crowd and we just got an email saying you need to install this new app now if you want do bookings, prescriptions and get lab results 😩

Agreed, and it’s a bit disturbing that we’ve all been shunted onto these private company applications with no say and little ability to get real assurance on the security of our most personal data

Yep, that rings true. Similar to Paqueta. An amazingly talented player but no fight. Summerville was incredible in the 20 mins when he came back from a long term injury against Forest. But that’s been it.
