Only one of these was a major league deal - so not quite as egregious as it initially seemed - yet the Milner signing is still a bargain bin move that will need to come with more additions, particularly with high velocity- to the bullpen

You can do the bargaining for a rich front office that refuses to spend if you want.

Spending doesn't at all guarantee success, but when you have the largest disparity between revenue and payroll, something needs to be done.
