I left X to escape the toxicity and trolls, and avoid pointless jibes from ignorant and unpleasant folk who feel the need to be unpleasant. I have had to block one such miscreant - let’s hope this is atypical

It should be the British public that decide the future of the BBC, not presidents or politicians. Agree? Add your name to the #APeoplesBBC campaign. party.coop/campaign/bbc...
It’s time for A People’s BBC
The BBC belongs to the British public, not to the Government. Licence payers, not Ministers, should determine it's future.

The British Medical Association is facing a strike over pay by its own clerical staff, prompting calls of hypocrisy as NHS resident doctors in England launch strike action with the union’s backing. Thin end of a hypocritical wedge?

Every #NHS appointment cancelled as a result of BMA intransigence and anyone put at risk is caused by unrealistic salary expectations on the part of doctors who strike. “Above all do no harm” Hippocrates would be against the strike

Shun Reform and all the vitriol they spew
December 15, 2025 at 10:45 AM
Doctors should not be striking in the run up to Christmas - they’ve had a fair hike and improved terms. Stop punishing the public and the BMA needs to be more responsible

The Governor of HMP Wandsworth is conspicuously silent. After the last blunder how is possible to repeat the same mistake?

Reeves made an inadvertent mistake, the letting agent said they would apply for a licence if it was needed. De facto this ends the affair and time to move on - Tory bleating desist

Tories - the party that had trashed the economy in 14 years. That had achieved zero growth and maximum austerity. That had opened the UK border to mass migration. And yet we were being asked to forget this. Kemi is fooling no-one.

Those who were in London for the demo were in thrall to ‘Tommy Robinson’ (sic), the former BNP member with convictions for violence, drug possession and fraud. #HopeNotHate #AntiFascism Defeat those xénophobes and racists

Solar Farms in Cornwall and Devon are welcome. Ignote nimby protests - less than 1% of farmland is needed for solar. We should also put panels on barns, factories and shelters. All homes should have PV panels... I paid for mine in 2015, but importantly we contribute to reduction of global warming.

We need an adult conversation about #NHS demand levels - the demographic tsunami of frail elderly and dementia means we must look at people’s assets.

The doctors should not strike. #BMA have got this wrong and only 26% in a poll support the doctors. They were given a pay deal and should accept it

For Southern Water’s boss to trouser more than a million pounds after just announcing a hosepipe ban and losing millions of litres in leaks every single day is abhorrent. It encapsulates everything that’s wrong with our broken, privatised water system.”

We need compulsory voting as in Australia. Simply increasing eligibility is not enough. ID cards would help.
