Hate to break it to you but language isn’t static, it’s constantly evolving. If enough people agree upon the meaning of a word, and we’ve certainly crossed that threshold with “performant”, that’s all that matters, regardless of the origin.
And if it being “in the dictionary” is what matters well…
A google result of searching the word “performant” with a definition reading “functioning well or as expected”

Let's say you want today's date, in the user's current time zone, submitted as part of a form. That's super easy to do with a simple Stimulus controller.

I was referring to this one that comes up when hitting cmd+k when viewing a repo. It lets you search/navigate within (or outside actually) that repo in a bunch of ways
