If the price of an imported car goes up 25% because of tariffs, automakers will significantly increase the price of domestically manufactured cars to capture the difference for themselves. They will never let the consumer come out ahead.

Tesla just announced 2024 financial results. Don’t be distracted by the headlines comparing the results to Wall St estimates. Compare the numbers to actual 2023 results. Operating income is down 20% for the year and EPS attributable to common shareholders (GAAP) are down 53% from 2023!!
