Honestly, when has an armed military force been effective in documenting evidence to bring forward a charge of fraud to the court??? It's a job for forensic accountants and financial expert lawyers. No? How crazy is all of this?

I become so flummoxed listening to all the government claims of law and order and national security. How can they be so horribly dishonest? Then I remember Viet Nam. Oh, yeah, that's how.

"...there are some people in Germany who become sick when they see these black uniforms, we understand..., and do not expect we shall be loved by all...; those who come to fear us...must have a bad conscience towards the Fuhrer and the nation" Himmler

Are not law enforcement required to not shoot at unarmed drivers? Are they not taught to step out of the way? Didn't the murderer deliberately run in front of the car?

As RFKJr redefines the food triangle, I defer to R. W. Wood. "Not every one is always able//To recognize a vegetable,//For some are guided by tradition,//While others use their intuition,//And even I make no pretense//Of having more than common sense." How to Tell the Birds from the Flowers

Trump. 'She ran over the officer. Self defense.' How horrible do the lies have to get??? How long will we tolerate federalized thugs marching through our streets and killing whoever irritates them???

ummmm, if the threat to the U.S. population was death from cocaine, how has seizing Maduro and confiscating Venezuelan oil addressed that problem?
January 6, 2026 at 1:18 PM
He literally says, 'I'm sending in America's big oil firms to control and operate Venzuela's resources'. And he also says, 'Venezuelans will be rich and free.' I can believe the first statement. Not the second. Are any of us that stupid?

Gulf of Tonkin, Bay of Pigs. Iraqi WMD. Never ends does it.

Trump abandons use of National Guard in LA. “Trump’s rambling here is the political version of ‘you can’t fire me, I quit.’" Izzy Gardon, Newsom's spokesperson. Couldn't have said it better.

MTG admitting naivety. Wow. Leaving hostility to follow a harder path of humility. Hopeful. At first MTG personified the weird right. Yet skillfully achieved influence and effectiveness. I won't vote for her. But now combining political skills with better ethics, however calculated, great.

Seeing a factual review of the DOGE cuts. Minimal effect, except for its impact on the poorest and most vulnerable. Why am I not surprised that the cruelest do what they do?

"I...expect that the other world, which has such deep sympathy for these criminals, will at least be generous enough to convert this sympathy into practical aid. We, on our part, are ready to put all these criminals at the disposal of these countries, for all I care, even on luxury ships." Familiar?

Just one historic example of racial prejudice: Irish immigrants. Gerald of Wales 12th Cent "filthy people, wallowing in vice"; Disraeli 1836 "wild, reckless, indolent, uncertain and superstitious race"; Thomas Carlyle "human chimpanzees"; Charles Trevelyan on the Irish famine "punishment from God"

While Miller et al claim immigrants degrade civilization is it not more likely, having achieved the arduous task of surviving their migration and resettlement, they demonstrate the strength and adeptness required to enhance any civilization. (Not to mention the historical record confirming that)

It just seems to me that the right wing cannot continue to sustain itself by mocking and demonizing the rest of American voters. This has got to be a slow burning fuse that will come to a dramatic end. Soon I hope.
December 26, 2025 at 3:13 AM
The right seems to enjoy calling Democrats with a moral sensitivity 'snowflakes'. I cannot imagine a more 'snowflake' bunch of pearl clutchers than the paranoid fears of the right wing regarding immigration.
December 25, 2025 at 6:04 PM
S. Miller. This is what happens when thoughtless paranoia rules.

Why are not ICE officials, Noem and Trump urging ICE agents and others to act with high standards of professionalism, sanctioning unwarranted use of force, and prohibiting false statements by their agents??? I submit it is fully intended to terrify immigrants coercing them to leave. Am I wrong????

An opinion in the Christian Post about the Gen Z right wing. They point out that for such 'Christians', "Christianity is a tool. Conservatism is a costume". Wonder when the conservative evangelicals will realize they've been played.

Just wondering if we will ever see an apology when babies start dying from Hepatitis B.

Not picking one side or the other, but simply on the face of it doesn't it seem ridiculous that the same party fanatical about states' rights chooses to prohibit the right of any state to regulate the use of AI within their borders?

Republican votes were needed to get the Epstein files released. Eight Republicans made it happen. Seven were women. What does that say about Republican misogyny?

Like the Emperor's New Clothes, at what point will Fox, which prided itself on blunt and aggressive reportage, overcome, if ever, its timidity reporting Trump's physical decline.
