If, among that 2%, are most of the prominent funders/consultants/politicians of the dem party, as well as journalists/pundits from other orgs, what they read in the NYTs will impact how they perceive issues, and that perspective trickles down into their politics.

People often misunderstand the critiques of the NYTs by saying something like "it only has about 10 million subscribers, that's 2% of the US pop. Public opinion isn't going to be swayed by its headlines/framing." But it matters less how many people read it than *who* is reading it.

I'm looking everywhere I can, and I can't find a single other source (aside from this one Politico article) confirming that there was a seperate negotiation occuring that resulted in a $50 million overall budget increase in Novemeber. Does anyone have any other source they can link to verify this?
