There were still ways for Diana to handle the situation without killing the terrorists. She is more than capable of bringing terrorists to justice without being judge, jury, and executioner. It's just empty spectacle.

I'm actually fine with Diana killing but as a last resort.

You keep throwing that word around where it doesn't apply, it loses value.

Funny that you claim Anthony can't take criticism, but then you block me when I criticize your attacks on him. Lovely hypocrisy.

'obsessively defend Disney'

Anthony doesn't do that. He criticizes Disney and its business practices, but you just have to make shit up, don't you?

With that said, I can perfectly understand why some people like Crystal Skull more than Dial of Destiny.
December 12, 2025 at 6:11 PM
Yeah, for me Raiders is a 5 out of 5 (the closest you can get to a perfect movie in my opinion), Temple and Crusade are both a 4 out of 5 (I have some issues with both films, but they're still pretty solid), Crystal Skull is a 3 out of 5, and I would likely put Dial of Destiny as a 3.5 out of 5.

I think Kingdom of the Crystal Skull actually has a decent first half, but the second half isn't nearly as good, though the epilogue is still great.

I think that applies to other parts of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull as well: good concepts, not great execution.

Like bringing back Marion, for example. Good concept, but she's pretty underutilized in the finished film and Indy's reconciliation with her isn't developed enough.

Honestly, that's why I really like the motorcycle chase scene in Crystal Skull, especially since it does a great job working in elements from the culture at the time like the greasers and the Cold War. And it feels like it's happening in a real, tangible place.

And the thing about the original trilogy is that the world still felt very believable even with all of the fantastical elements. The locations all feel like real locations. Maybe some people think that's a petty complaint to have, but the setting is one of the things I love about these films.

Like, I'd say that the jungle chase is likely my least favorite set piece of the entire franchise because there is this fakeness to it and not just because of the CGI. I actually find the scene more absurd than the aliens. And I don't like the lighting of the scene either, to be honest.
December 12, 2025 at 3:44 AM
I actually do have *some* issue with the absurdity, but it's less to do with the aliens and more because of the jungle chase scene where even after the jungle cutter none of the cars seem to ever be in danger of running out of room and there is just so much open space for them to drive.

Hey, are you still going to do a Fionna and Cake reaction and review?
December 10, 2025 at 8:03 AM
And people have a problem with the word 'slop' because it's often coming from pretentious film bros who are trying too hard to make themselves look more cultured and intelligent.

Or just don't use any of those labels. I don't, especially since it causes those labels to lose their meaning after a while.
