TL;dr Renegades is actually way better than you expected it ever would be and I think bodes well for the game and marathon is the studio can keep its head above water. There is some incredible talent at Bungie. If you can get past a few eye rolling “memberberries” it just all works really well.

Every VA knocks it out of the park, with Blue being a standout as a ghost with a New York accent who is so much fun to listen to. Dredgen Bael and Aunor, as the Jedi/sith stand-ins manage to ride a difficult line esp with Bael having to be Kylo Ren But Destiny, still manages to stand on his own.

I wasn’t on board with licensing, but I give Bungie credit for two things: a KILLER writing team and an incredible cast of actors. While escaping references is impossible w/Star Wars, it’s weaves into D2 with the right sense of adventure and fun that Lightfall critically lacked.

The new gear is all fantastic and fun to use and worth chasing, the activity is open with plenty to explore for bonuses and secrets and is a staggering amount of combat, WITH optional open pvp versions with zero restrictions. Matchmade, no portal modifier fiddling, just an easy gameplay loop again.
