We have had more issues getting our Nvidia graphics cards to play nice with Linux than issues with VR. So far the driver that works for our cards is the Nvidia 570-open. So far it plays what we throw at it. We use steam and wine for non steam games.

We use Ubuntu 24.04 here on 2 of our PCs. My sons uses kde plasma 6 x11 on Ubuntu 25. On his laptop he has waylan cachy os. Steam VR is unstable so we use Wyvrn. It's stable and ha its own app for whatever headset you have. We have quests because when we got them they were on sale and cheap.

We got the quests just due to cost. Will eventually upgrade to better when the overall technology is more stable and yeah for work I can see the issues.

Hubby has been playing No Man's Sky solely in VR for a week on Ubuntu through Wyvrn on a quest 3. My oldest son had the other quest 3 and plays VR chat and who know what else from Wyvrn on I think kde plasma, although he is also running arch so not sure which he does VR off of.

My entire family is on some form of Linux now. Laptops and PCs. It's working great for us gamers and we have VR working too. Ready to convert my mom's laptop to Linux if necessary.
