I don’t follow many people so the discover feed was giving me stuff from all over Bluesky. You probably might follow enough right-wingers and moderates that you only saw that side. I followed just enough left-wingers that I saw the disturbing celebration.

That is NOT what I’ve seen. The amount of times today I’ve seen people saying something along the lines of being glad this happened is disturbing.

I didn’t say we have less knife crime per capita than the UK. We have more killings per capita, of course the knife killings will be higher. The problem is we have more people comfortable with killing than the UK does. We’re arguing about the instrument when the murder is the problem.

What that shows me is that this is a soldier or assassin who was trained to kill and had the know-how to do this same thing in a country that bans guns.

I didn’t say more than America, I said (meant) an absurd number of stabbings compared to the number of gun deaths, and the article says the UK has .48 gun deaths per million, 3.26 lethal stabbings per million, so brits are stabbed 6.8 times more than they are shot. But shootings still happen there.

One person can stab 25 people over a year. Same amount of deaths from one intent to kill. The intent to kill is the disease and here arguing over the symptoms. We need a cure, not just treatment.

One person can kill around the same number in spaced out stabbings as a shooter can take out at once because stabbing is silent. The problem is our society producing people who are comfortable with killing. People are arguing about the symptoms and not looking for the cause of the disease.

That’s not the case in the UK, where there are few gun killings but an absurd number of stabbings. One person can get away with 20+ separate knife killings before getting caught. And let’s not forget about black market and unregistered guns, which are already illegal.

Not all. Some genuinely want better lives for people. Everyone needs to start looking at what’s actually being said outside our own thought bubble or we’re gonna have Civil War II. Heck, it might have already started.
