Pro Football Hall of Fame hopeful, NE Patriots owner, Robert Kraft (contributor) has had a few off the field incidents in the news. Possibly of note, he appears in the recent Epstein file releases which might impact perception as Kraft's run in with the law caught Jeff's attention multiple times.

Approximate percentage of contributing players in the NFL each year to make the HOF (layered by inducted path modern/senior).
Swings in the 20s and 30s due to the NFL radically growing and contracting.
1945-49 perhaps under represented
1951-59 HOF flush
1960-99 Modern induction % ~fairly~ flat

I was looking at some PFF data after downloading PowerBI today, @jaydpauley.bsky.social , is there a known sports preference between these charts? It's same data, just with X and Y flipped. Top looks more organic, bottom is also kind of neat with the very obvious forced incompletion granularity.

Porting over one of my favorite projects from Twitter: All Time Franchises.
Rules are basically the same as Madden's MUT. 1 Game with the team makes their entire career eligible for the franchise.
No limit to how many franchises a player can represent. It's slow to collect a complete team.

Version .1 on coming up with a condensed All Time Team single year peak. Qb, feels like coin flipping on Brady, 04 Manning, 84 Marino. RB has an embarrassment of riches. Only a few slam dunks which in itself is pretty amazing -- 18 Donald, 94 Deion, 11 Gronk, X Stephenson

Last year Fox Sports did these 3 graphics. For fun I'm making a few teams (12 Off, 12 Def) based on single season peaks.
Some amazing edge yrs to stack and rank, '12 JJ Watt, '87 Reggie White, '86 Lawrence Taylor, '51 Len Ford, '64 Deacon Jones, '90 Bruce Smith, etc. Other positions are also hard.

Fun topic here on how the AAFC being absorbed may impact history.
Judge & Jury: Who Benefits Most from NFL's Decision to Recognize AAFC Stats?
Statistics from the All-America Football Conference are now incorporated into NFL record books. Whom does that help most?

Didn't expect this to happen. Neat that it did.
Big winners are Cleveland, Paul Brown, Otto Graham, and Marion Motley.

Stashing some historical 40-yard dash data in this thread.
Starting things off:
Cleveland Browns legend Jim Brown showed up to training camp in 1958 and 1959 running the 40 yard dash in 4.5 seconds. If he has any, I've yet to come across a 4.4 second article.

I think the most interesting thing about the career of Mike Evans is that no WR in history is as impacted by 3 RECs as he is. With just 3 receptions and 14 yards:

Dwight Freeney did not record a single tackle (solo or assist) in 30% of his games (regular season + playoffs).
That number is so profound that we could add up Terrell Suggs + John Abraham + Justin Houston + Jared Allen + DeMarcus Ware + Justin Smith + JJ Watt and still have fewer 0 tackle instances

Unofficial NFL single season sack record:

1951 CLE Browns - Len Ford 23 sacks, 12 games
1978 DET Lions - Al Bubba Baker 23 sacks, 14 games

Without the 1987 strike (or had he played against scabs), Reggie White likely sets an even higher mark having tallied 21 sacks in 12 non-strike outings.

Vinny Testaverde at WR with the NY Jets during a wildcat snap vs the Raiders. Don't recall why I clipped this as I scroll through my videos deciding if I want to port all of them over to my new laptop.
If PFF existed back then perhaps he gets small plus run block grade.

Haloti Ngata missed the HOF Semis this year. Here's Dan Dierdorf calling him the best down lineman in the NFL (2010). Got OBS on a different laptop and I think my settings still aren't quite right. See a small gray bar in top left suggesting a cropping issue and quality should be hair better.

Steve "Wiz" Wisniewski has advanced to the Hall of Fame Semi's. Just his second time (2014, 2025). I think he's got ALL the accolades and film needed to creep forward into the Finalist 15 and get his case discussed. I occasionally see folks push back on his dirty rep, so here's a few examples:

Love this sack by Levon Kirkland (Steelers vs Bengals, 1996).
Levon is probably only 280 lbs here, he eventually clips 300 later in his career. As an aside, not many better than him in short yardage vs the run.

Vikings v Titans, Harrison Smith managed his 92nd and 93rd career PD along with a 36th interception. Announcers noted he was a Hall of Fame player. Will be curious how his HOF momentum is looking in 6-10 years.

Might as well use the intersection between my two favorite hobbies as a first post -- football and collecting.
A few pictures of autographed rookie football cards that make up members of my All Time NFL 1st Team. It's got 53 players like a normal roster.
