Yesterday, the Pittsburgh Foundation partnered with CCS Fundraising to host the 2025 Pittsburgh Philanthropy Forum, where nonprofit leaders from across our area could come together, share tips and talk about new changes and trends in fundraising this year.

It's #BacktoSchool season and we would like to thank our generous donors who awarded $4.5 million in scholarship grants to over 600 students this year. It's also the fourth year of our partnership with Scholarship America, who helped these students find an extra 528 scholarships worth $2.9 million.

Awardees must have produced significant work in their fields and demonstrate special promise for future achievement. From 1923-2009, the awards were overseen by a committee at a private foundation. In 2010, the fund came to our Foundation. Awardees are now selected by a Pittsburgh-based committee.

More than 50 individuals have received the award, including artistic luminaries like painter Jackson Pollock (1948), poet Robert Duncan (1975), sculptor Carol Rubenstein (1979), painter Brendan O’Connell (2003), singer/poet Latasha Nevada Diggs (2008), and dancer/choreographer Kyle Abraham (2012).

The event also honored a treasured human, Anne Lewis, who received the prestigious Impact Award. Lewis was a Foundation Board Vice Chair after being a longtime Board member and all-around oracle, mentor and friend for our organization and staff.
