A heartwarming story that would be completely unnecessary if only the U.S. had a single-payer health insurance system (aka Medicare for All) like nearly every other major developed nation on Earth. No one should have to be bankrupted just for a chance to survive. It’s immoral.

I was really worried that America wouldn’t be great again. Good thing we laid off all those park rangers and VA nurses and kicked the sick and elderly off of Medicaid. Greatness is upon us. Thanks DOGE.
